About
My name is Neil McDonald an aspiring data analyst with a background in computational biology, biomedical biology and teaching. I a currently building up a portfolio of work to demonstrate my abilities as a data analyst with goal of obtaining a data analyst role.
I am passionate about using data to tell interesting and compelling stories particularly in the areas of science, health and sport.


Education
I studied computational biology focused on ageing/bone biology at Newcastle university. During this time I developed and calibrated dynamic computational models based on experimental data. This involved utilizing python programming to analyze and visualize the data output of my computational models.

More recently I have followed the google data analytics professional certificate on Coursera. As well as a number of other professional certificates on the platform, including An introduction to SQL.

Passions and Hobbies
In my free time I like to keep active and regularly take part in cycling, swimming and triathlon events.
I also like to spend time painting and collecting wargaming miniatures an activity that allows me to explore a more creative and artistic side to myself.
